Fulcrum has recently launched the revolutionary Sharq all-road carbon wheelset, distinguished by a unique undulating rim design that enhances aerodynamic capabilities across different wind conditions. Drawing inspiration from the streamlined fin of a shark, the Sharq is expertly engineered to excel on a variety of terrains, making it ideal for extensive road cycling and off-road competitions.

By utilizing Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis and extensive wind-tunnel tests, Fulcrum optimized the wheelset to prioritize stability and responsiveness when powering through. The final product, known as the 2-Wave Rim, showcases a balanced yet visually striking profile that helps maintain airflow around the rim for longer periods, especially at wider angles.

The wheelset comes equipped with high-quality parts, featuring innovative A3RO spokes designed for stability and aerodynamic efficiency. Using Fulcrum’s MoMag technique, the rim bed remains smooth and unbroken, making it easier to set up tubeless tires. The hubs, crafted from precision-milled alloy, contain Ultra Smooth Bearing (USB) ceramic bearings and utilize a simple preload system.

At a weight of 1,444 grams with a SRAM XDR freehub body, the Sharq wheelset is compatible with all major freehub formats, priced at €2,460 / £2,289 / $2,807. This latest release aims to redefine performance and efficiency standards in mixed-surface cycling.
